Divorcist

About

Our mission

We want to make divorce and separation a dignified stage of life.

This guides everything we do, from helping people gain financial independence, to helping victims of abuse find a way to safety.

Our story

Divorcist was founded in 2021 by Eliza Cussen and Elizabeth Paulson in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Both Eliza and Elizabeth have careers that span writing, marketing, and activism. Eliza was one of Australia’s most prolific feminist writers when she moved to the United States in 2014.  There she quickly became a leader of the reproductive rights movement in her adopted home, Wisconsin.

While working at Random House, Elizabeth published her first book “98 Ways to Find A Great Guy.” She created her own publishing imprint, Two Shrews Press, that publishes women-centered nonfiction. She is a passionate advocate for common sense gun legislation, running the local chapter of a national organization.

Between them they have two kids, two cats, three passports, three wedding albums, two divorces, eight breakups, and one gym membership.
